What a great, cute book!
There’s a Mouse Hiding in the Book is an inter-active book, in which the reader/listener has to turn pages quickly or slowly, blow on the pages, or even shake the book, depending on what the primary character is asking the reader to do. This would have been a huge favorite, had I had this when my children were young. It could be any characters, of course, but with a little marketing gimmick, there becomes a nice tie-in with the popular Tom & Jerry cartoon figures. My only question … can you still find Tom & Jerry cartoons? Will children recognize these rascally figures?
I read this ARC on my kindle, and I’m not sure I would want to hand my electronic device over to a toddler to shake and punch. However, putting an actual book in their hands, and watching them gleefully go through it, would be a true delight.
The artwork is bold, bright, and very appropriate for the intended audience.
Looking for a good book? If you’re a parent, grand-parent, or care-giver, you can expect that There’s a Mouse Hiding in This Book will be a much-loved book for your aspiring readers!
